Blithe & Tosowoong from Jolse!
Thursday, 2 August 2018
It's been a while since I last ordered from my favourite Korean beauty store, Jolse, but having seen an irresistible offer on both Blithe and Tosowoong, I decided to stock up on sheet masks as well as try a few new products. My purchases arrived in a much larger than expected box, with a plethora of free samples and gifts (bottom pile) including a full size Foodholic hand cream, a Secriss sheet mask, nose pore strips and pair of socks.
Lookfantastic Beauty Box - August 2017
Monday, 7 August 2017
When the August Lookfantastic beauty box landed at my door, I wondered if it was enough to redeem itself and make me remain a subscriber once my annual subscription lapses next month. Upon opening it, however, the answer was a resolute "no". The quality of the LF beauty box has slowly (but surely) gone downhill over the past year, and I've been finding myself less and less enthusiastic about receiving each box.
The Pip Box - July 2017
Wednesday, 26 July 2017
The Pip Box is a relatively new beauty box, launched in February this year if I remember correctly. Their main selling point is offering natural, cruelty-free products, and 50p from every box sold is donated to an animal friendly charity.
Powder Beauty Drawer Subscription - July 2017
Monday, 10 July 2017
The second month of my Powder Beauty Drawer monthly box landed at my door today, and fortunately, it's much better than the major disappointment that was the Lookfantastic July beauty box.
Lookfantastic Beauty Box - July 2017
Wednesday, 5 July 2017
The July 2017 Lookfantastic Beauty Box landed on my doorstep this afternoon and I have to say that I'm not thrilled at all by its contents (I would not recommend this month's box), and I will explain why. Also, just because it's summer right now, it doesn't mean that everyone wants tanning/bronzing products. There are perhaps a couple of items that I don't mind, but if I didn't have an annual subscription and I saw what's included this month, I wouldn't have touched this box with a bargepole.
Powder Beauty Drawer Subscription - June 2017
Tuesday, 4 July 2017
Just as I thought that no monthly beauty box could match up to the Lookfantastic beauty box, Powder goes ahead and released a subscription beauty box! Not including the postage cost of £3.50, the monthly price of the Powder beauty box is £15 per month, or £13.50/month for 6 months, or £10 per month for a 12 month subscription (still paid monthly).
Lookfantastic Beauty Box - June 2017
Friday, 30 June 2017
Admittedly, the June 2017 Lookfantastic Beauty Box isn't my favourite, but it's by no means a disappointment and I'm certainly not complaining considering it's only £11.25 per month (pre price increase). Although personally, I'd rather receive an extra product than an ELLE magazine that instantly finds it way into the nearest bin.
Lookfantastic Beauty Box - April 2017
Saturday, 8 April 2017
As always, I'm super excited to receive the latest Lookfantastic Beauty Box (April 2017), the only beauty box that I subscribe to these days. A copy of ELLE magazine is included every month, but as per usual, I never read it. Anyway, without further ado, here are the contents!
Lookfantastic Beauty Box - January 2017
Friday, 6 January 2017
I didn't get last month's Lookfantastic Beauty Box until weeks after release, as I was on holiday, so I was super excited to receive my first 2017 beauty box this morning!
To date, LF's beauty box is the owhose monthly offerings didn't disappoint, which is why I signed up for an annual subscription a few months ago. At only £11.25 per month, it's an absolute steal! Since then, I've noticed that the annual subscription price has increased to £13 per month. Here's hoping that the LF beauty box continues to deliver.
Sulwhasoo Essentrue Deep Nourishing Body Cream [Review]
Sulwhasoo remains one of my favourite ever brands, and the fact that their products make up the majority of my daily routine is proof enough of how much I approve of their quality. So far, I have yet to find something that has failed to meet expectations, and I've even converted my mother to their Timetreasure range.
I purchased this body cream around half a year ago from Jolse and only started using it within the last few months when the weather took a nose dive. Winter generally equals drier skin, which is when I switch to the more moisturising products in my stash.
Powder Beauty Drawer, Season 2 [Review]
Friday, 6 May 2016
I can't remember the last time I went near a beauty box after being disappointed by their lacklustre cofferings; I know that surprise is supposed to be part of the fun, but when one receives products that one simply does not like (I'm very picky), it actually ruins the experience. This is why I prefer beauty boxes whose contents are revealed beforehand, such as the case of the Powder Beauty Drawer.
The box that I purchased is the second release, also known as Season 2 of Powder Beauty Drawer. For a one-off payment of £35 plus £4.95 postage (total = £39.95), you'll receive a box with contents supposedly worth over £120. So without further ado, here it is...
2016 Year of the Monkey Rilakkuma Plushes
Thursday, 11 February 2016
What better way to start the year than a fresh delivery of Rilakkuma? In addition to a few limited edition plushes, for me, the most notable is no other than the 2016 New Year Rilakkuma series.
美的 BITEKI December 2015 - Limited Edition Holiday Makeup Collections Booklet
Monday, 26 October 2015
This month, both BITEKI and MAQUIA magazines contain booklets with the upcoming and available collections. These issues are great for compiling your wishlist for the holiday season!
MAQUIA December 2015 - Limited Edition Holiday Makeup Collections Booklet
My favourite issues of MAQUIA and BITEKI magazines are when the upcoming limited edition collections are introduced.
Even if I don't end up buying, these issues always feature so many beautiful sets that for me, they're always worth picking up. Enjoy the eye candy!
Home Sweet Home!
Thursday, 22 October 2015
Ah... there's no place like home. Having spent the past two weeks on holiday in (rainy) Vancouver followed by (insanely busy) New York, I've never missed the comfort of my cosy home this much. Still a little tired & jet lagged after getting home last night, but the majority of the holiday has been totally worth it!
