2016 Year of the Monkey Rilakkuma Plushes
Thursday, 11 February 2016
What better way to start the year than a fresh delivery of Rilakkuma? In addition to a few limited edition plushes, for me, the most notable is no other than the 2016 New Year Rilakkuma series.
Home Sweet Home!
Thursday, 22 October 2015
Ah... there's no place like home. Having spent the past two weeks on holiday in (rainy) Vancouver followed by (insanely busy) New York, I've never missed the comfort of my cosy home this much. Still a little tired & jet lagged after getting home last night, but the majority of the holiday has been totally worth it!
This is why I like Tenso
Friday, 4 September 2015
From time to time Tenso has an international shipping discount campaign, where if you spend over x amount on a website (usually Rakuten JP), you'd receive a shipping discount. I almost always use this opportunity to stock up on a few Japanese skincare and makeup items, plus Rilakkuma products.
And of course, the packages I receive are always well packed. I've even ordered fragile goods before, such as tableware, and nothing has ever arrived broken.

Rilakkuma Panda Series!
Sunday, 23 August 2015
I'm so excited to finally get these Rilakkuma Panda Series plushes! Every single bear is adorable, and the store limited ones have officially overtaken last year's Stripes Stripes Everyday Limited Edition as my favourites.
Rilakkuma Fresh Lemon Series and Kamiotai Rilakkuma Store Opening Plushes
Tuesday, 28 July 2015
The Rilakkuma Fresh Lemon Series フレッシュレモンシリーズ was released back in March, but I've only just received the last plushes I'd been waiting for.
Space Series Rilakkuma & other bear related things
Tuesday, 15 July 2014
I love it when Tenso has international shipping campaigns, especially when they coincide with a new Rilakkuma release, which gives me a totally justifiable excuse to shop.
Group photo:

Rilakkuma curry dishes, Korilakkuma tonsui bowl, Rilakkuma & Korilakkuma bowls and plates. My kitchen needs Rilakkuma too!
I'm a huge fan of these Rilakkuma deco pens and like to use them to decorate my organiser. Not sure if you can get refills for them, but it isn't a big deal as they're very well priced.

Small Rilakkuma spoons, forks, pink Korilakkuma chopsticks, and two Space Rilakkuma letter sets.
Last but not least, the standard release Rilakkuma Space Series plushies! Their space helmets are removable, with the exception of Kiitotori, whose space suit is more like a hoodie.
I think these are probably my second favourite series so far, after the Stripes Stripes Everyday store limited edition kumas - bears in polar bear suits, you really can't get much cuter than that!

Rilakkuma Stripes Stripes Everyday Store Limited Edition
Tuesday, 29 April 2014
Along with the regular Rilakkuma Stripes Stripes Everyday plushies, these store limited edition plushies are my favourite Rilakkuma series to date. Both Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma are dressed up in polar bear costumes, each holding a bear (polar for Rila, striped bear for Ko). Kiiroitori on the other hand, is dressed in a penguin suit.
Luckily I was able to grab the full set for a good price before they were sold out.

Lawson x Rilakkuma Vegetables Plushies
After a very long wait , my Lawson x Rilakkuma and Stripes Stripes Everyday store limited edition plushies are have finally landed! Despite the parcel almost being in tatters (EMS = fail), my babies were very well protected with layers of bubble wrap - phew!
Lawson x Rilakkuma vegetables plushie set - what they lack in size, they make up in attention to detail and overall cuteness.
Cabbage Rilakkuma
Carrot Rilakkuma
Tomato Korilakkuma
Eggplant Korilakkuma

Rilakkuma Tokyo Skytree 2nd Anniversary
Saturday, 19 April 2014
I've just preordered this Rilakkuma Tokyo Skytree 2nd Anniversary set! As I don't live in Japan and therefore can't get to the stores, I have to rely on Taobao sellers for the limited edition/store exclusive releases. There's always a markup on the plushies of course, but it still works out much cheaper than ebay or other Rilakkuma online stores.
My favourites in this set are Korilakkuma & Rilakkuma - they both look beyond adorable with the pink umbrella & raincoat! As for Kiiroitori, I've never been his biggest fan, though I won't leave him out if he's part of a set.
These Anniversary Rilakkuma plushies are released on May 22nd, I can't wait!

Rilakkuma Stripes Stripes Everyday Series
Wednesday, 2 April 2014
San-X has done it again! They've released yet another seriously cute Rilakkuma series I just had to have - Stripes Stripes Everyday (しましまエブリディ). Thanks to Tenso, I was able to purchase the full set before some were sold out, yay!
I've had these plushies for about 2 weeks, but haven't got round to posting about them because I've been too busy playing the HD remastered version of Final Fantasy X on both Vita and PS3 (love that game save sync feature). I remember spending a lot of time playing the original when it was released 12 years ago; maxing characters, playing Blitzball, beating down Dark Aeons... Ah, the nostalgia... Unfortunately, these days it often feels like there aren't enough hours in the day, so my progress has been slower, but I digress.
The Rilakkuma Stripes Stripes Everyday series has everyone dressed up in penguin costumes, with the exception of Kiiroitori, who appears to be dressed up as a polar bear. Of the three characters, Kiiroitori has always been my least favourite, but I thought he was simply too cute to pass up! Maybe it's those bear ears...
For the M size plushies (larger plush), Rilakkuma, Korilakkuma and Kiiroitori are holding a miniature blue striped fish, pink striped fish & striped penguin, and a striped polar bear respectively.

Kiiroitori

For the S size plushies, only Kiiroitori has a polar bear, while his friends come empty handed.
While I was at it, I picked up the Rilakkuma & Korilakkuma mini chest of drawers. They're the perfect size for storing little things, and can even be used as desktop bookends.
I also ordered the store Limited Edition plushie set below, which will be on their way once a few other items are with my Taobao forwarding agent.
For those wondering why I didn't get my goodies via FromJapan - because of Tenso's 50% off international shipping (up to a maximum discount of 5000 Yen) campaign, they worked out to be cheaper by approximately 4500 Yen. But after further calculations, it appears that Tenso might actually be better for my needs long term - I'm in the middle of a FromJapan vs Tenso comparison post, so will try to finish that ASAP!

Year of Rilakkuma
Wednesday, 8 January 2014
Unlike previous years, I've not purchased any clothes in the sales. Instead, I've been building my collection of Rilakkuma (plus Korilakkuma and some Kiiroitori) plushes. They really make such brilliant room decorations, and can never have too many bears!
There are still a few more on the way, but I should be done for now, or at least, until San-X releases their next Rilakkuma collection!
Most bears were from Taobao via Panli, a Chinese proxy shopping/forwarding service, who is currently investigating the disappearance of my Luk Fook Rilakkuma pendant & jewellery box - one of Panli's employees didn't pack them in, and I'd sent several photos/videos showing the weight discrepancy. Until that is sorted, I will be looking to find an alternative service.
Anyway, without further ado, here's a pic of the Rilakkumas I received so far in 2014:
I'll start with the Zodiac Collection, which is a limited edition release for Rilakkuma's 10th Anniversary. I currently have 9/12 - expecting the remaining 3 shortly.
Since I don't have all of them yet, in no particular order, Gemini Rilakkuma:
Aries
Pisces - Rilakkuma has a mermaid tail!
Libra
Leo - one of my favourites, the lion costume is simply adorable!
Virgo

Aquarius
Sagittarius
Scorpio - Rilakkuma has a tail on the back of his head. How hilariously cute!
Virgo
Rilakkuma Chocolate Series - Kiiroitori, Korilakkuma and Rilakkuma, each wearing a fluffy chocolate suit and holding a chocolate bar.
Rilakkuma Happy Natural Time - forest themed
Rilakkuma Burger Series - I'm lacking Kiiroitori, but as the bird is my least favourite character, I'm not too bothered.
Very happy that I've managed to hunt down these burger bears though!
Sailor Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma
Aloha Rilakkuma Series - Rilakkuma has gone to Hawaii! Kiiroitori will be joining his friends soon.
Korilakkuma and Kiiroitori from the Egg Series (already have Eggy Rilakkuma)
Kiiroitori from the Rilakkuma Sweets Series to complete my set, and Korilakkuma as a rabbit, in a pink rabbit costume - I think this was released in 2007? Got her because she's cute, fluffy and pink ^_^
Rilakkuma Bath Series - already have Korilakkuma, so got Rilakkuma and Kiiroitori
Rilakkuma Happy Time Series - not 100% sure about the name, but I think these are limited edition, and can only be purchased at a San-X store. Absolutely love them!
Rilakkuma 10th Anniversary - Rilakkuma, Korilakkuma, and Kiiroitori are each riding a white horse and looking rather noble in the process. Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of these to begin with, but they grew on me.
Rilakkuma Lawson Shopping Cart - this is another one of my favourites; Rilakkuma pushing Korilkkuma and Kiiroitori in a shopping cart (they were clearly too lazy to walk).
Rilakkuma Lawson Oden Series - Rilakkuma is sitting in an oden pot and munching up all the ingredients! He is quite possibly my absolute favourite out of this lot!
As I now have quite a few plushes, I think Rilakkuma deserves a dedicated section on my blog. Hmmm...
